Indigo Bates is a British-American director born and raised in London. Over the last decade, she has lived in and shaped her artistic vision in Buenos Aires, Paris, Edinburgh, and Seville. She now resides between London and New York City.

As a pianist and linguist, Bates has developed a passion for music and a compelling feeling for communication. Both of these loves deeply inform the approach she takes to filmmaking. Recently, Bates has directed campaigns and advertisements for Snapchat, Nordstrom, Pure Insurance, Hinge, Adidas, Fitbit, Barneys, and Vince. Bates not only does commercial work but has also created various short films that have been screened at international festivals in New York, Los Angeles, Mexico City, London, and Edinburgh. Currently, she is developing her first feature film.
